Blooming Prairie Ambulance Service
Blooming Prairie Ambulance is now RECRUITING Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and First Responders! NEW! We are now accepting applications to have First Responders be on our ambulance service! This is new to our service. If you are interested in joining our service either as an EMT or First Responder, please fill out an application and drop it off at the Blooming Prairie City Center located at 138 Highway Avenue South. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) provide out of hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients. EMTs have the basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life threatening emergencies. EMTs perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance. First Responder is one level below an EMT. First Responders will assist EMTs on medical emergencies as needed. A First Responder at times will be able to drive our ambulances to the hospital when needed.
Blooming Prairie Ambulance currently consists of 17 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) who volunteer their time to help others in a time of need. Our EMTs are licensed in the State of Minnesota under the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board as well as nationally certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
We have two ambulances that serves the City of Blooming Prairie and surrounding area. We are a BLS (Basic Life Support) service. We also utilize Mayo Ambulance Service that is Advance Life Support (ALS) as needed on calls. Our Ambulance Service typically responds to 300 to 400 calls every year.
